I do not disagree with you.
But I would care to defend the developers likewise, that users with touchscreens should be able to sketch arrows and shapes easily with one hand OR write out, rather than clicking on a overtop then do that. In a way, this tool is targeted more for the touch screen users.

Why is this tool for touch screen users when IT is the defacto screenshot app connected computers arsenic cured?
Adding basal shapes (rectangle, elliptical) and arrows is the one thing that elevates this instrument to the next level and IT in truth shouldn't be that big of an ask.

Ironically, Mark Russinovich's ZoomIt adds this functionality as an overlay, so the easiest workaround presently, because the devs have ignored this for so long is to:
- Take a snip
- Start ZoomIT, and economic consumption it to mark up your snip
- ***IRONIC, and preposterously wacky part: Snip your marked up cut bac...
This is beyond silly connected MS' part, when the applied science is already there, built by a Microsoft employee in 2006 (last Cubic centimeter'd in 2013)...:

It's a attaint basic shapes are not easy.
On my company's notebook computer I'm not allowed to install additive software, then I have to take the screenshot, open it with paint 3d, draw the arrow, select the image, copy it and glue it on the messaging application.
An arrow, a rectangle and a circle, we are non asking for anything else, advisable, may be a text box would also be a good addition.
The basic snip app would beryllium one of best MS apps if arrows can exist worn.

Highlights, crops (unnecessary because I already just selected the section of the screen I wanted to lop), erasers, and even a rule... but zero circles or arrows? The two things people really want when capturing a screenshot so they hind end point someone's attention to something in item? Weird.

As others have mentioned, that doesn't work. When I effort to open the inter-group communication with the Feedback Hub, it fails with: "Your bill doesn't have access to this feedback".
Could you please prioritize this basic functionality? I'm e'er embarrassed away my cave dweller arrows and circles. I fetch up unfastening and redrawing them multiple times, which is a waste of time.

The original feedback has been consolidated into this new one, with a reaction from a Microsoft engineer:
Delight read and UPVOTE!
The main suggestion (a nuisance, but it whole caboodle) is to paste the lop into Paint 3D which has a few more shapes. I mightiness sum up that pasting into PowerPoint or Word adds many Sir Thomas More shapes you can use.
